๐ŸŽฏ Bookings

5 questions
What is a single booking?

A single booking is a one-time court reservation for a specific date and time. You select your venue, court, date, and time slot(s), then complete your order. It's perfect for casual or one-off games.

What is a serial (recurring) booking?

A serial booking lets you reserve the same court at the same time on a recurring basis (e.g., every Tuesday at 7 PM for 8 weeks). This is ideal for regular training sessions, leagues, or weekly group play. Serial bookings often come with discounted rates.

What booking timeframes are available?

You can book courts in the following durations:

  • 15 minutes โ€” quick practice sessions
  • 30 minutes โ€” short games
  • 60 minutes โ€” standard game (default)
  • 90 minutes โ€” extended play
  • 120 minutes โ€” long sessions or matches

The default timeframe is 60 minutes. You can change this from the booking grid's time selector.

How far in advance can I book?

You can book courts up to 14 days in advance. Premium members get access to bookings up to 30 days ahead.

Can I cancel or modify a booking?

Yes! You can cancel or modify your booking from the My Orders section in your dashboard. Free cancellations are available up to 2 hours before the start time. For serial bookings, you can cancel individual sessions or the entire series.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Pricing & Payments

6 questions
How is court pricing determined?

Court pricing is based on a pricing matrix that considers:

  • Day type โ€” Weekday, Weekend, or Holiday rates
  • Demand level โ€” Peak, Off-Peak, or Standard hours
  • Court type โ€” Different surfaces and sports may have different base prices

For example, a badminton court on a weekday off-peak hour will typically cost less than a weekend peak hour. Venue owners configure their own pricing matrix.

What currencies are supported?

OpenCourt supports multiple currencies based on venue location:

  • ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง GBP (British Pound)
  • ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ USD (US Dollar)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ณ VND (Vietnamese Dong)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต JPY (Japanese Yen)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ SGD (Singapore Dollar)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ AUD (Australian Dollar)
  • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ CHF (Swiss Franc)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช EUR (Euro)

The currency is automatically determined by the venue's country. All prices are displayed in the local currency.

Which payment gateways does OpenCourt support?

OpenCourt integrates with multiple payment gateways depending on your region:

  • Stripe โ€” Credit/debit cards (international)
  • MoMo โ€” Mobile wallet (Vietnam)
  • ZaloPay โ€” Mobile wallet (Vietnam)
  • Bank Transfer โ€” Direct bank transfer (all regions)
  • PayPal โ€” Online payments (international)

Available payment methods are shown at checkout based on the venue's location.

What is the "Pay Later" option?

Some venues offer a "Pay Later" option that lets you reserve a court and pay when you arrive. This is subject to the venue's policy and your account standing. Pay Later may not be available during peak hours.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days to your original payment method. If you cancel within the free cancellation window (2 hours before), the full amount is refunded. Late cancellations may incur a fee per the venue's policy.

Do prices change based on time of day?

Yes! Each venue defines demand hours that affect pricing:

  • Peak hours โ€” Higher demand periods (typically evenings and weekends) with premium pricing
  • Off-peak hours โ€” Lower demand periods (typically mornings and weekday afternoons) with discounted rates
  • Standard hours โ€” Regular pricing during normal hours

The booking grid clearly shows the price for each time slot so you always know the cost before booking.

๐Ÿค Open Slots & Community

5 questions
What are Open Slots?

Open Slots are bookings where the court booker is looking for players to join. It's a great way to find partners and join games without booking a full court yourself!

How do I create an Open Slot?

After booking a court, you can mark it as an "Open Slot" to let other players know you're looking for partners. Set the number of spots available, preferred skill level, and wait for others to join!

How do I join an Open Slot?

Browse the Open Slots page to see available games. Filter by sport, skill level, date, or venue. Click "Join" on any slot that interests you. The organizer will approve your request and you'll receive a confirmation.

Can I set a skill level for my Open Slot?

Yes! When creating an Open Slot, you can specify the desired skill level so players can find games matching their ability.

What skill levels are available?

OpenCourt uses a 10-level skill rating system:

  1. Beginner โ€” Just starting out

  9. Semi-Pro โ€” Near-professional level
  10. Pro โ€” Professional player

You can set your skill level in your profile, and it's used to match you with compatible Open Slots.

โญ Membership

5 questions
What are the membership benefits?

Membership gives you free play on any available slot using your monthly hour quota. Benefits include:

  • Free court booking within your monthly hours
  • Daily and monthly hour allocations (varies by tier)
  • Advance booking priority โ€” reserve slots ahead of non-members
  • Book courts and invite friends to play with you
  • Access to Open Slots to find playing partners
How do I sign up for a membership?

Visit the Membership page, choose your venue, select a plan (Bronze, Silver, or Gold), and pick monthly or annual billing. Complete your payment to activate your membership immediately.

What happens when my hours run out?

You can still book courts at normal prices. Your membership benefits like advance booking priority remain active until your plan expires. Your hour quota resets at the start of each billing period.

Can I use my membership at other venues?

Memberships are tied to the venue you selected when subscribing. To play at another venue, you would need a separate membership for that location.

Can I cancel my membership?

Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime and will remain active until the end of the billing period. Annual plans are non-refundable but offer the best value โ€” you pay for 10 months and get 12.

๐ŸŸ Companies, Venues & Courts

6 questions
What is a company on OpenCourt?

A company is the business entity that operates one or more venues. For example, "OpenCourt Sports Group" may run multiple venues across different cities. Companies set their branding, pricing policies, and membership plans. When you book at any venue under the same company, your booking history and membership benefits are shared.

How are venues organized?

Each venue is a physical sports facility with its own set of courts, operating hours, and pricing. Venues belong to a company and are located in a specific city. Each venue has 8โ€“20 courts, its own timezone, currency, and configurable settings like slot duration, buffer time, and deposit options.

What types of courts are available?

Courts vary by sport and surface type:

  • Sports: Badminton, Tennis, Pickleball, Football/Futsal, Billiards
  • Surfaces: Wood, Rubber Mat, Hard Court, Synthetic, Grass

Each court listing shows its sport, surface, and base price. Some venues offer both indoor and outdoor courts.

What are court skins?

Skins are visual themes applied to the booking grid to customize how your venue's courts appear. Venue owners can choose different color schemes and layouts for their booking interface, making it match their brand identity. Skins only affect the visual presentation โ€” the booking functionality remains the same.

How do I know if a court is available?

The booking grid on each venue page shows real-time availability. Green slots are available, gray slots are taken, and yellow slots are on hold. Select your preferred date and timeframe to see what's open.

What happens if the venue is closed on a holiday?

Venues mark special closures (holidays, maintenance) as exceptions in advance. If your booking is affected, you'll receive a notification and automatic refund. Check the venue's exception schedule for planned closures. Some venues also offer special holiday hours with adjusted pricing.
